Synopsis

The coalition war of Qin against Zhao finally erupts, and sparks fly from day one as both sides scramble for the initiative. Against the Qin army that has pushed into Zhao's royal heartland, Li Mu sets up to meet them at two points. Shin, Mou Ten and Ou Sen head for the fiercest battleground, the Shukai Plain; Yo Tan Wa and Kyou Kai march on Ryou Yang; and Kan Ki encircles the besieged city of Gyou. On the Shukai Plain, Mou Ten on the left wing fights like a lion to push the line forward, yet Li Mu answers with a sharp counterstroke of his own. This volume depicts the turbulent first day of the great battle that stakes China's unification.

On the first day at the Shukai Plain, Mou Ten's forces overwhelm Zhao on the left wing and tilt the flow toward Qin, but Li Mu absorbs it with precise command and grinds the front to a stalemate. Shin's Hi Shin Unit clashes at the front, opening a deadly struggle against renowned Zhao generals. Ou Sen surveys the whole field while holding his true move in reserve. Kan Ki presses his own ruthless scheme in the Gyou siege, and Yo Tan Wa opens hostilities on the Ryou Yang front. The three-front battle seesaws from the very first day, and the outcome remains utterly unreadable as it charges into the next volume.
