At Yi An in Zhao, Qin is swallowed by Ri Boku’s calculations; Kan Ki and his host vanish from the field. Under the nation’s heavy air, Ei Sei summons Shin and gives a secret charge: go to Han with Great General Tou. The surface task is recon of Xinzheng; the true core is recruiting the rare thinker Han Feizi into Qin. Shin steps into a capital air unlike battlefield bloodlust—Han’s political space where intrigue and scholarship cross. Tou clears the path as a veteran general; Shin receives at once words that ask “what is a person’s essence?” and a blueprint for the next grab at All-Under-Heaven. Volume 70 compresses the turn where Qin, having lost Kan Ki as a symbol of raw violence, steers toward hardening the state with law and thought. Precisely because defeat is fresh, politics reaches to steal Han’s talent. What burns next is not the plain, but debate deep in the palace—and Shin’s measure as a general.
