Synopsis

Will Kan Ki's army's fateful surprise attack bear fruit? In 233 BC, the Battle of Gian between Qin and Zhao reaches its final phase. The heart of this volume is the cornered Kan Ki's do-or-die surprise strike at Ri Boku's headquarters. Faced with a gap in strength no conventional tactic can overturn, Kan Ki, heedless of his own army's losses, gambles on a single-point breakthrough aimed only at Ri Boku's head. Ri Boku senses the aim yet responds with meticulous defense and foresight, and the two strategists' wits meet their final collision. Kan Ki's way of life as one who has always "taken by force" is vividly drawn, and the outcome of the Gian battle nears its decision. Including the movements of Shin's Hi Shin Unit, the long battle's conclusion is reeled in all at once in this tense volume.
