Synopsis

To surpass the Fourth Hokage, Naruto throws himself into mastering an S-rank jutsu powered by nature energy, training relentlessly under Kakashi to refine his wind-style chakra. The volume's peak is Hidan's ritual. Standing inside a circle drawn in his own blood and ingesting Asuma's, Hidan links their bodies so that every wound he inflicts on himself strikes Asuma instead. Even Shikamaru's shadow bind can't fully stop him, and Hidan drives a blade through his own heart to deal Asuma a mortal blow. Asuma dies leaving final words for his students, setting up the revenge to come. Naruto's wind-style training reaches the brink of completion, closing the book with both threads about to converge.
