Synopsis

The "strongest creature in the world" finally reveals himself. Kaido shifts into his man-beast form and clashes with Luffy, but even Luffy's Haki-charged onslaught is shattered by a single swing of the club. Gear Fourth proves useless, and Luffy is knocked out cold in one strike, suffering a total defeat. Sneering "someone like you shouldn't challenge an Emperor," Kaido throws Luffy into the prisoner mines of Udon. Confronted by the gulf in power, Luffy meets fellow prisoners like Hyogoro and the captured Kid, and resolves to relearn the Haki technique Ryuo. Meanwhile, groundwork for Oden's backstory is laid, setting the tale of Luffy's comeback toward the raid in motion.
