Synopsis

Slipping into a banquet at Orochi Castle alongside Wano's finest oiran, Komurasaki, Robin disguises herself as a kunoichi to gather intelligence for the coming raid — only to have her identity exposed by Orochi's henchmen, leaving her in a desperate bind. Meanwhile, imprisoned in the Udon prisoner mines, Luffy endures brutal labor while searching for a way out, and through his meeting with the legendary yakuza boss Hyogoro he begins to seriously master the Haki technique Ryuo. Robin falls into danger at Orochi Castle but narrowly escapes through her wits against Shinobu and Fukurokuju. In the mines, Hyogoro teaches Luffy the internal-destruction technique Ryuo, and Luffy evolves his Haki until he can blast guards away barehanded. The captured Kid, who also challenged an Emperor and lost, shares the prison, and the two — at odds — begin plotting escape. In the capital, an information war unfolds over the survival of Hiyori (Oden's daughter) and the date of the raid that Kin'emon's group is arranging. A crucial setup volume that carefully builds the characters' grudges and resolve toward the coming Oden flashback and the final battle.
