Synopsis

Having tasted the Gourmet God "Air," Toriko and his allies begin to undergo a massive, irreversible change in their Gourmet Cells. Their joy is short-lived, for a sinister shadow soon closes in on Komatsu. It proves to be Teppei the Regeneration Man, who has fallen to the evil organization NEO. The defenseless Komatsu is dealt a fatal wound and left on the brink of death. Searching for the one thing that can save his friend, Toriko sets out after the next ingredient, "Pair," heading into the perilous, uncharted Area 7. A volume where the bonds of comrades and the foreboding of loss intertwine.

The revelation that Teppei has fallen to NEO shakes Toriko's group to the core. A once-trusted ally bares his fangs as an enemy, and his violence pushes Komatsu to the very edge of death. Suppressing his turmoil, Toriko learns that Pair, the ingredient that can save Komatsu, is part of the body of the Monkey King Bambina, and commits to a do-or-die trek into Area 7. Here the story shifts its weight from "an adventure to hunt ingredients" to "a fight not to lose someone precious," and the resolve of each of the Four Heavenly Kings begins to be tested, leading into the full clash at 100G Mountain.
