Volume 42 ends the fragile peace of Elfhelm. Casca, memory restored, shares calm days with Guts—until the Moonlight Boy who visits by night sheds his form under the full moon. What stands there is Griffith, further down the road of causality. Casca screams; the Dragonslayer falls; the blade does not reach. Island wards tear and darkness pours in. Schierke, Puck, and the island folk resist while Guts faces the White Hawk again and learns how thin safety was. Rest was an illusion; the Brand’s story never closed. This reunion of calamity opens the door to the next collapse.
