Synopsis

On day three of the Spring Tournament, the toughest second match finally reaches a fateful final set. Even after Karasuno steals the second set, Kamomedai's block stands unshaken, held firm by iron will. Shoyo Hinata keeps searching for a way over the towering wall before him, struggling and challenging it with his small body. The final set becomes a fierce back-and-forth, with Hinata racing all over the court to draw Kamomedai's attention, shining as both decoy and attacker. But his body, pushed to full throttle, is nearing its limit. Karasuno claws on through Kageyama's sets and desperate defense, yet Kamomedai's all-round strength gradually pulls ahead. In the tense endgame, Hinata keeps standing on the court despite mounting exhaustion and the first signs of a fever, and the outcome carries over into the next volume. This is a book about the brutal cost of standing just short of the peak.
