Synopsis

Volume 25 tightens a complete encirclement around Qin. The southern superpower Chu suddenly invades, and all of Qin trembles before this foe that boasts the largest domain among the Seven Warring States. Yet the true threat lies in the fact that the approaching enemy is not Chu alone. As if by prior agreement, multiple states surround Qin, and a crisis of survival unseen since the nation's founding grows real. This goes beyond generals vying for glory: an omen of turmoil that could swallow the state itself. Sei and his commanders must marshal all their strength in the opening of one of the series' greatest total wars.

It gradually becomes clear that Chu's invasion is not solo but the prelude to a Coalition Army drawing in Zhao, Wei, Han, and Yan. Qin is driven into a desperate corner by an unprecedented simultaneous assault from many fronts and has no choice but to concentrate the whole nation's power. Sei steels himself to stand at the head of his forces, his worth as king put to the test. Shin and the Hi Shin Unit are thrown into a battle on a scale beyond anything before. Riboku's shadow seems to pull strings from behind, marking the decisive turn into the Coalition Army arc, one of the biggest climaxes of Kingdom's first half.
