Synopsis

Volume 12 continues Yotsuba's world as the season deepens into autumn, gathering chapters like Yotsuba & Torako, Yotsuba & Blue, Yotsuba & Halloween, and Yotsuba & Camping. The highlight is the camping chapter, where Yotsuba heads into the mountains with Dad, Jumbo and Yanda, thrilled by pitching tents and cooking rice over a fire, eyes shining amid unfamiliar nature. In the Halloween chapter she chants "trick or treat" without grasping what costumes mean, roping the whole neighborhood into the fun. In the Blue chapter she borrows Torako's paints without asking and turns her hands and face bright blue. Nothing major happens, but Yotsuba steadily widening her world is drawn so tenderly that a quiet warmth lingers afterward.
