Synopsis

Yusuke's next mission sends him undercover into a disciple-selection tournament held by Genkai, a master of spirit energy. His goal: keep Genkai's powerful secret technique, the Spirit Wave, out of the hands of the demon Rando, who has slipped in among the contestants in disguise. Alongside boastful fighters, Yusuke clears one brutal test of strength, willpower, and nerve after another — knowing one of them must be Rando. This fourth volume opens the training arc, where Yusuke grows from a mere brawler into a true martial artist.

Yusuke defeats Rando, earns Genkai's recognition, and becomes her official disciple. From here he masters the Spirit Wave and transforms from a scrappy delinquent into a warrior of real technique. Meeting his teacher Genkai lays the foundation for the explosive growth that will carry Yusuke into the Dark Tournament to come.
